Our History
Everything that’s ever been created, first started with a thought, a dream, a vision… when you transfer the intangible into an actionable plan, it becomes a blueprint for building that thing – whether it’s an invention, a work of art, or a business. That’s exactly how the Entrepreneur Think-Tank Co-Operative came to be!
It was April 5th of 2011, while attending a monthly business book club called VIBES, that Julie Larson was asked what her dream was. She shared her vision of creating a place that would help entrepreneurs learn how to grow their businesses and improve their lives. During the meeting, she was told there was a Request for Proposal to lease out the old city hall building located in downtown Meridian. That same week, Julie went to tour the building and no sooner had she walked through the big glass doors in the entrance way, sensed that she’d found the perfect place to make her dream a reality.
With only 1 week to submit a response, she quickly formed a team of advisers, including business owners and consultants from around the country whose input she valued. Her Go-Giver coaching practice is founded on building ‘know, like & trust’ relationships with people, so it wasn’t difficult to find trusted advisers who were willing to offer Julie their feedback, support and encouragement on this new business venture.
Once the blueprint was created, the contract awarded, the plans refined, members signed on, and the lease negotiated, final preparations were underway to ready the space for occupancy. ETC members, along with friends & family pitched in to help clean, repair, and paint the 8,000 sq. ft. facility. It took just five short months from initial concept to our BIG Grand Opening day on September 9, 2011.
The old Meridian City Hall building formally housed the start of many new directions in support of the community through a variety of ways. Now, new life has been breathed into the landmark building from local entrepreneurs with similar aspirations. We sincerely appreciate everyone who so generously contributed their time and talents to help us get this far in our journey. Special acknowledgment and thanks goes out to Brandon Wright, owner of Ultraclean for asking the question… “What’s your Dream?” and for helping connect us to it!
